FLOW DIAGRAMS

There are numerous ways to utilise Control Deck!

The expanding array of DJI accessories may initially seem daunting. That's why we've created these flow diagrams to help you understand the various methods of configuring your equipment.

We will keep these updated as new hardware and firmware arrives.

UPDATE FIRMWARE

We recommend updating your device firmware to the latest version.

Get started by updating your DJI Transmission.

Download and install DJI Assistant 2 (Mac or Windows) and update the DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor to the latest firmware ( V01.06.1400 ).

Old firmware versions may not connect with Control Deck.

Now is a good time to update your connected devices: Inspire 3, Ronin 4D, Ronin 2, RS3 Pro and RS4 Pro.

A reminder for Ronin 4D users, the camera body and 4D Video Transmitter each require their own firmware. USB-C ports highlighted below.

CONTROL DECK MENU

  • When this is selected, short press the SETUP button to return to the home screen.
  • Never miss a shot! — At any point within the menu, long press the SETUP button to quickly exit.

  • L  /  2  /  3
  • Select your preferred joystick expo (exponential) curves.
  • Linear (L) — 1:1 input to output, if using this mode you will ride the master rate for more finesse of tilt/pan speed on the go.
  • Square (2) — provides finer control of lower speed moves, while still being able to run a reasonably high pan/tilt speed.
  • Cubic (3) — suitable for when you want to run really high speed on tilt/pan, but still have fine control for slow movement.

  • On  /  Off
  • Enable or disable the joystick twist axis.

  • Normal  /  Swapped
  • Normal: Roll Axis on joystick twist, Zoom on side rocker.
  • Swapped: Roll Axis on side rocker, Zoom on joystick twist.

  • On  /  Off
  • Enable or disable 3-channel FIZ control on Control Deck.
  • On: if you are controlling the FIZ.
  • Off: if your 1st AC is operating with the DJI 3-Channel Follow Focus Hand Unit or the DJI Focus Pro Hand Unit.

  • Full  /  Half  /  Third
  • For those using Inspire 3, but also useful with the 4D. The electronic lens maps prioritise close focus finesse, when you actually want far focus finesse!
  • Full: maps the full lens focus range to the full range of the focus knob.
  • Half: maps the far half of the lens focus range to the full range of the focus knob.
  • Third: maps the far third of the lens focus range to the full range of the focus knob.

  • Focus Knob Calibration
  • Press calibrate. Turn the Focus Knob to each end. Knock each end a few times gently until it says Complete!
  • You may find it says Complete after just a partial movement, this is because it's tracking the endpoints in the background even when you're not in the menu. It will only calibrate for the full range of the knob.

  • Slow  /  Med  /  Fast
  • Select your preferred roll axis speed.
  • Slow = 10, Medium = 30, Fast = 100

  • 1  /  2  /  3
  • Switch between different shake algorithms.
  • 3 is the most aggressive shake.

  • On  /  Off
  • On: Shake will continue on all axes, regardless of joystick input.
  • Off: Shake will only be on axis that are not getting input from joystick, once input from joystick stops that axis will ease into shake again.

  • On  /  Off
  • On: Shake is enabled for the pan axis.
  • Off: Shake is disabled for the pan axis.

  • On  /  Off
  • On: Shake is enabled for the tilt axis.
  • Off: Shake is disabled for the tilt axis.

  • On  /  Off
  • On: Shake is enabled for the roll axis.
  • Off: Shake is disabled for the roll axis.

  • 1  /  2  /  3  /  4  /  5
  • Easily cycle through Ronin 2 User Profiles.
  • R2 User Profiles can be pan, tilt and roll limits, 3-Axis Mode, Follow Mode (free, follow, FPV, recenter), Mounting Mode (handheld, car mount, aerial, tripod).
  • Reduces menu diving, saving valuable time on set.
